    How to Fit Guttering

One of Aluflow® Guttering’s top benefits is the ease of installation. Watch this video to learn how simple it is…

With hidden gutter unions, concealed gutter brackets and flush stop ends, not only does Aluflow® Aluminium Gutter look stunning but it is straightforward any skill level of installer to fit.

This patented system has a host of innovative features that are gamechanges for the guttering industry. For example, our Rock N Lock® functionality is incorporated for a fast gutter clip installation.

    Tools required to fit guttering:

    - Appropriate PPE (personal protection equipment)
    - Level or Timber Batten
    - Measuring Tape
    - Drill with a Cobalt or HSS Drill Bit
    - Chop Saw (with blade suitable for aluminium)
    - Pencil or marker pen
    - Securbond® Sealant Tube & Gun
    - Stainless Steel Wall Fixings

How to fit guttering - Steps:

    1. Safety first – please take the necessary safety steps before starting work
    2. To determine the gutter height place a batten or level on the roof
    3. Then offer up a Running Outlet so that the batten is touching the inside edge of the gutter
    4. With a pencil mark the position of the bottom of the Running outlet on your fascia
    5. Take a Gutter Bracket and predrill two fixing holes, using a cobalt drill bit. The diameter of the hole should match your specific fixing type.
    6. Screw the first Rock N Lock® Gutter Bracket in place. IMPORTANT: Use suitable stainless steel fixings for your fascia/structure substrate.
    7. Fix the gutter brackets at approx. 600mm spacing. Please change this spacing to suit your specific project location if required (e.g. in a heavy rain area)
    8. Rock N Lock® your first gutter length onto your gutter clips
    9. Optional: screw in the safety grub screw – refer to our Installation Guide for further details
    10. Join with a union anytime there is a gutter, running outlet or corner connection
    11. To join components, select an Aluflow® Gutter Union and mark a point 25mm from each edge
    12. Using a 3.5mm Drill Bit drill holes into the two points you have marked on the union
    13. Take a tube of Securbond® Gutter Sealant – use a matching colour
    14. Trim the sealant nozzle to 45 degrees and create an approx. 4-5mm diameter hole
    15. Make sure the surface of the gutter is dry and clean
    16. Using a pencil, mark the back of the gutter at 20mm & 40mm in from the join edge. Repeat the opposite side.
    17. Apply four parallel beads of Securbond Silicone at the marked points, from the front to the back of the gutter
    18. Ensure that there are no gaps in the Securbond® Sealant
    19. Fill the screw channel with sealant, 50mm in both directions from the joint
    20. Rock N Lock® the gutter union into the guttering and press down into place
    21. Fix the two screws down until firmly secured
    22. To install a Running Outlet, offer up to your chosen gutter position and mark both sides
    23. Secure a gutter bracket on each side, centred at the two marked points
    24. Rock N Lock the outlet onto the two brackets
    25. Aluflow corners follow the same installation method as the running outlet
    26. Always install brackets on both sides of a corner
    27. To install stopends, apply two beads of sealant, 20mm and 40mm in from the end of the gutter
    28. Fill the screw channel with Securbond Sealant, back 50mm to the edge
    29. Rock N Lock the gutter stop ends in and compress down
    30. Screw it into place for a nice flush end!
    31. Aluflow Gutter stop end can be fitted onto gutter lengths, outlets and corners

Refer to our Aluflow® Installation Guide for the full fitting details.
